Since day one the heroes in Rise of FirstBorn have continually evolved. As we head into our fourth year of Rise of FirstBorn we have completely redone our Hero guide to address changes. From the basics to more this guide will cover the most important aspects of your Heroes in Rise of FirstBorn.

Hero Basics

Your heroes are going to be important in Rise of FirstBorn. From leveling to upgrading to house power to gear everything about your hero can make a difference in your gameplay. Equipping gear correctly and leveling up the right heroes is essential.

When you first download the game it takes you through a basic tutorial on your heroes. There are a variety of heroes within the game and some of those heroes are free (they are considered free because they are earned through in-game rewards) while other heroes are going to have a price attached to them.

If you are wondering how to get a Hero you can always reference our Hero Addendum, however, you can also see which heroes cost and which are free by pushing the plus sign from your hero list in-game and accessing the list of all the heroes.

Free heroes will have a green banner that says free. By selecting a Hero you can see the basic information about it including how to obtain it.

Accessing Your Hero Page

You can access your Heroes from two screens. The most obvious method is to select the tab that says “Heroes” at the bottom of your screen.

The Heroes Image 2.png

You can also access your Heroes from the screen for your Lord.

At the very bottom of the Lord screen, there is a button that looks like a helmet, which will take you to your Heroes.

Recruiting Heroes

When first beginning the game, you will be taken through a tutorial in which you recruit and appoint a Hero for construction.

Steps to Recruiting a Hero:

  1. Go to your Hero Screen.
  2. Choose an open slot (this is notated by the plus signs at the bottom of the screen).
  3. Choose a Hero; those currently available will be highlighted.

You can open more Heroes as you progress through the game. The number of Heroes is constantly increasing so be sure that you keep your eyes open for new Heroes.

Hero Traits

Every Hero is gifted with a different Trait. However, you can change the Traits your Hero possesses. You do this by selecting the symbol next to their current trait.

Appointing Heroes

There are various roles you can appoint your heroes to within your castle. Different appointments include:

  1. Guard Captain and Deputy- These are going to be the heroes that defend your castle if it gets hit
  2. Architect- this appointment helps with construction speed
  3. Scholar- this is going to be the appointment that helps with research speed
  4. Treasurer- this will help with production, upkeep, and more
  5. Drill Sergeant- this is your training hero
  6. Infirmary Officer- this will help with your injured troop capacity, healing speed, and healing cost reduction
  7. Master Craftsman- this hero is going to help with your equipment crafting and trap production

The game takes you through a tutorial on how to appoint heroes but in case you forgot check out this Gif that shows both how to appoint and cancel a hero appointment.

Remember if your Hero is not appointed you will not get the benefits from it.

Cost of Leveling Heroes Up

In the table below, you can see the XP required to level each of your heroes to the current max level of 80.

Anatomy of a Hero

Let’s take a minute to take a look at a Hero page. Here we can see my pretty Odali.

The Heroes Image 6.jpg

The slots surrounding her are for Gear and pets and off to the right of the screen you can see where runes go. However, there are few very important tabs here that we do not want to miss out on.

House Power

In the bottom left corner of your screen you will see this symbol:

The Heroes Image 7.jpg

This is for House Power. Do not judge my House Power on Odali, I have the stuff to do them, but I am lazy. I am working on it, okay?

There are currently 6 different types of House Power for your heroes and each brings different stats to the table. If you are limited on the number of House Gemstones you have then you will need to be very careful to prioritize which House Powers are most important to you based on the stats they give.

For all the information you need to know about House Powers <<<< click there.

The Tab to the Right

If you look to the edge of the Hero screen you will see another tab. This tab has a few features and you can access it by tapping it.

The top section of this tab will show you information on what level your Hero has been upgraded to.

The Heroes Image 8.jpg

The second section shows you your World Skills that go along with that upgrade.

The Heroes Image 9.jpg

The third tab shows Hero gear presets. If you change hero gear you can use this to set up presets and switch back and forth.

The Heroes Image 10.jpg

The final tab will show you what your current House Powers are and you can also access them from there.

Hero Upgrades

We mentioned hero upgrades above but this is a really important aspect of your Hero. You can get the tokens you need from Dimension Battles but we also have a cost chart for all of you that shows how many tokens you will need per level.

Engraving Gear On Your Hero

The gear you put on your Hero can be engraved. Engraving gives your gear extra stats and costs engraving stones. There is something very important you need to know about this though!!!!

Once you engrave gear the stats for engraving only apply to the hero that was wearing the gear when you engraved it.

This means that if you put that gear on a different hero you will not get engraving stats there. If you want to permanently switch engraved gear to another hero you will need to use engraving removal stones and then engrave it again when it is on the Hero you want it to be engraved on.

Which Hero?

Now that we have covered the basics and the anatomy let’s talk about what heroes to pick. Each of your heroes is going to have its own individual stats and hero upgrade stats. Not all Heroes are created equal. Some Heroes will have higher attack and other heroes will have higher defense or HP.

In the table below we have ranked the heroes based on their attack.

For those of you who are nerds like me and love to see the actual numbers. In this table, you can see the +7 Stats of your hero combined with the level 80 stats of your hero.
