Runes come in multiple types, and equipping them to your Heroes gives you crucial additional Buffs. Choosing the appropriate Runes to attach requires strategy and in-depth knowledge of your account and its capabilities. Let’s look at what to know about Runes!

Runes Overview

Runes are equipped to your Heroes. Each Hero has slots for their own specific Runes. When you choose a Hero, the option to add Runes appears on the right. A maximum of two Runes can be equipped until the Hero reaches Level 40, at which point a third Rune slot opens for use.

Any level Rune can be inserted here, but keep in mind that to change Runes, you must have a Rune Removal. These items are available in packs, although several can be accumulated through the Resurrection of an Ancient City (Castle 21).

Rune Type

There are three classes of Runes: Battle, Economy, and Dimension. Pair your Hero with Runes that complement their intention. Each Rune has six possible Grades: Basic, Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Immortal. The Buff percentages for each level Rune are listed below.

Power Runes

Power Runes give twice the stat boost of existing Runes, and are only available in Immortal grade from packs. For example, the Mighty Battle Rune of Lethality gives 30% Cavalry Attack.

Fusing Runes

Unlike Auras, Rune Fusing is completely random. Select the Runes you wish to fuse, or let the system auto register. Auto Registering works well for the lower Grades, but you may wish to choose your own Runes to combine as you start getting into the higher Grades. Additionally you can do a Group Fuse off all levels up to Epic. You cannot Group Fuse Immortal Runes.

Enhancing

Runes can be enhanced to +15. These require Enhancement Stones for Battle Runes, Enhancement Stones for Dimensional Runes, and Enhancement Stones for Economy Runes, which are found either in packs, or in Continent Domination Rewards. Each Enhancement level increases the Buff applicable to that Rune, with additional types of Buffs added at levels 5, 10 and 15. Only Immortal Grade Runes can be Enhanced.

Runes are integral to the success of your account. Whether it’s Construction Runes on your building Hero, or Combat Runes on your Attack Hero, they add a nice buff to your Castle and should be used wisely.
