Gear Up to Build Up

Gear, Gear, and more Gear. While we already covered Combat gear in our earlier article Gear Up, we have yet to cover Economy Gear. Economy Gear is another very important factor when it comes to being successful in Iron Throne. Economy gear helps you make sure you save on time and resources when performing basic functions such as Researching, Construction, Monster Killing, and more.

Breaking Down Gear

Every set of Gear will have its own use and its own Hero to equip it. Here, we will cover the different sets of Gear for each Economy function, and which Hero is best suited to wearing it.

Construction Gear

Construction Gear is one of the first Economy Sets that will help you out in a meaningful way. This Gear helps to reduce the time on the Construction of your buildings. This is very important, as the buildings in the city provide a variety of boosts that help with other functions you will need, like training, research, and production, to name a few.

Hero

Construction Gear should be appointed to your Construction Hero. Typically this is going to be Haral, unless you change your Heroes’ traits. However, just equipping this gear will not be helpful. You also need to make sure to Appoint Haral as the Architect.

Gear Sets

There are three Gear Sets that can be used for Construction. Our recommendation is the Glorious Gear Set, since, out of the three, it has the best Reductions. However, this gear is more expensive and difficult to get. Therefore, while you work towards this gear, utilizing one of the lesser sets in the meantime will save you time and Speed Up items. Research Gear

The next Gear to look at is Research Gear. Research Gear will help to reduce the time that your latest Research will take to complete for different boosts within your Castle. Research is an important factor in getting some great boosts to help you progress in the game. Research will strengthen you as you play.

Hero

Research Gear should be appointed to your Research Hero. Typically this is going to be Saulus, unless you have changed the trait he comes with. Once again, equipping this gear to the Hero will not be helpful unless you appoint the Hero as your Scholar.

Gear Sets

Much like Construction Sets, there are three gear sets for Research. While all of the sets provide useful boosts, our top recommendation for Research Gear is Sagacious Gear. This Gear, like Glorious, is more difficult and costly to obtain. Therefore, we have broken down the Research Gear sets for you below so that you are able to see what you can use while working towards building a Sagacious Set.

Training Gear

Training Gear is going to help with the cost of Training Troops. In any War, troops are needed, so we want our Training to be effective and as inexpensive as possible. Your Troops will be essential to your success in both attacking and defending.

Hero

When Training Troops, you will want to equip your Training Gear to your Training Hero. For many players, this will be Tertio. While Training, be sure that Tertio is appointed as the Treasurer to best utilize the boosts that are offered.

Gear Set

The choice for Training is slightly easier, as there is only one Gear set that is intended for Training. While there are some Training Boosts for Speed in the Eldred Set, these are very minimal. For Training, you will want the Tactician Set. This Set can be seen in the table below.

Resource Production

Resources are vital to growth in Iron Throne. In order to Build, Research, or Train, resources are required. You can even use your resources to purchase necessary items from the Merchant. Resource Production Sets will help you to produce even more to keep your stores overflowing.

Hero

This Gear will be equipped to whatever Hero you’ve given Resource Production Traits. For many players, this will be Maria. In order for this to be effective, Maria will need to be appointed as the Treasurer when you are not Training with Tertio.

Gear Sets

For Production, there are two gear sets that are intended solely for this use. While the Eldred set has production uses as well, the numbers are lower or the same as the Overseer’s Set. For Production, the best set to use will be the Treasurer’s Set, but if you are unable to obtain that set, then Overseer’s — a set you receive simply by leveling your Citadel — is what we would recommend next.

Gathering Gear

Gathering Gear is going to help you to be able to gather Resources faster on tile. Once again as stated above Resources are essential to every aspect of the game and highly sought after. By utilizing this gear you will be able to obtain more at a quicker pace to keep you progressing forward.

Hero

Gathering Gear is going to be equipped to your Gathering Hero. For many players, this will be Torrs. When you send a march to a Resource Tile the Hero you will want to send will be Torrs in order to Gather at a faster speed utilizing the traits he has and the Gear.

Gear Set

For Gathering, there are two gear sets. However, the Collector Set gives the best stats. The Collector’s Set can only be obtained in the Gold Store. However, it does have some decent boosts to speed your time, should you choose to utilize it. Recently, the Helga Set was received, the benefit to this set is that it is easy to obtain, however, the stats are lower than that of the Collector Set.

Monster Gear

Dealing with Monsters is a huge consideration in Iron Throne. Monsters are going to drop Gear and Speed Up items, among other things. In order to defeat the Monsters that plague your Kingdom, you want to be sure that you are equipping the best Gear possible.

Hero

Obviously, you should equip Monster Gear to the Hero you are attacking Monsters with. This could be a variety of Heroes based whichever one gives you the highest Combat Power.

Gear Sets

The Gear Sets we look at below are focused on Monsters only. However, other Gear Sets, such as Conqueror or Berserker, can push your Hero’s Combat Power even higher and help you to kill the higher level monsters. Looking just at the Monster Gear, the recommendation for Monster Hunting is the Hunter King Set. This set has the most essential Hero Stats to building up your Combat power for attacking Monsters.

The third set seen below is the Hunter’s Mark Set. While this is a Monster Gear, it is very specific. This Gear is for the Raid Monster, as it deals an additional 1,500% damage when hitting the Raid Monster.

Infirmary Gear

This is gear that is going to help increase your hospital’s Injured Troop Capacity, and help with Healing Speed and a Healing Cost Reduction.

Hero

These gear sets will be equipped to whichever hero you have appointed as your Infirmary Officer. This will ensure that your Gear is the most effective it can be.

Gear Sets

For Infirmary Gear, there are currently two sets. Your best choice is currently the Infirmary Officer Set. However, it is less costly to obtain the Hakkon Set, so if you have yet to obtain your Infirmary Set, make sure you grind Town Mode and get the Hakkon Set.

Crafting Gear

This is Gear that will help with the functions in your Forge. This Gear will save you time and silver.

Hero

You want to be sure to equip this to your Hero that is appointed as your Master Craftsman. This will ensure you are receiving the benefits from this set.

Gear Set

Currently there is only one Gear set for this use, the Ironsmith Set.
