Did you know that, according to Greek Mythology, Titans were a part of a family of giants that ruled over the earth until they were thrown over by the Olympian gods? Well, these powerful creatures have arrived in Iron Throne and they are making a big impact on the game.

These ferocious giants have many different components that will help your castle be successful in battle. If you want to know how to utilize these giants to your benefit, do not be a slacker, keep reading.

Updates to Titans in July 2021

With our latest patch, our Titans gained some updates and fixes. One of my favorite updates we saw was a pop-up that tells us if we are going over the required XP for the levels we are able to level up with Titan XP.

As we have seen, the gold cost for Titan XP is quite high. This update will keep you from spending way more gold than is necessary. The next great update has to do with Titan Research.

Titan Research can feel like a killer on speeds. If you start your research outside an alliance the game will now allow you to get help for Titan Research upon joining an alliance. This is a huge help for saving on speeds.

There has also been a feature added that allows you to go into setting and select for Titans to only be displayed in battles that include your troops.

One of my favorite things about Iron Throne is that when there are problems and fixes, they tell us! Check out all this stuff that was fixed in the latest update!

  1. An issue that seemed to decrease the number of Titan’s next Enhancement Level was fixed.
  2. An issue where, when enhancing the Titan, the figures that should also be affected by both its Traits and Research were only being increased by enhancement was fixed.
  3. Titan Moonstone [Help] tab label was modified (Help → Reinforcement)
  4. An issue where the pop-up window is not displayed when trying to install a Reinforcement Type Titan without Installation Research was fixed.
  5. An issue where the warning pop-up window stating that it is not possible to install a Reinforcement Type Titan which is appointed as Guardian Titan was not displayed has been fixed.
  6. Issue where despite changing the UI size through in-game configurations the ongoing Titan Research’s effect was not applied was fixed.
  7. Issue where when installing a Reinforcement Type Titan in the World, it would be displayed abnormally was fixed.
  8. Issue where even after changing the Titan’s name the battle reports were issued with the original Titan’s name instead of the modified one was fixed.
  9. Issue where among the Titan Level Up notification messages the increase icon was displayed even on stats that were not increased was fixed.
  10. Issue where when using Titan XP Items the calculation of points was irregularly applied was fixed.

Meet the Titans

Currently, we have three Titans in Iron Throne. All three have their own unique purpose and impact our game in a different way. You cannot unlock the Titans until you reach Citadel level 41.

Access the Titans

Before you can meet your Titans, you must first know where to find them. You can access your Titans from the Titan symbol on your profile.

Exhibit A: reference the little Titan symbol on your profile pic

"Picture of player's profile showing different ways to access areas/menus."

You can also access your Titan from the Forgotten Temple (do not forget about it). This building is on the far left of your screen next to the giant sword that looks like Excalibur cast into the lake. I am determined to find the Lady of the Lake so I can try to retrieve it.

Exhibit B: The Forgotten Temple

"Picture of the forgotten temple - accessing the titans."

You can access the Forgotten temple by scrolling all the way to the left of your screen. In addition, reference exhibit A, you can also access the Forgotten Temple by clicking on the queue next to your research queue.

Meet the Warlord

The Warlord is your Attack Titan. This beastly guy can be used in soloes and rallies. Each of your Titans is going to have a “skill.”

As you upgrade your Titan his stats for his skill will upgrade as well. This guy’s skill is Charge Attack. Charge Attack inflicts damage equal to 140% of the Titan’s Attack when attacking.

Meet the Savior

The Savior is your Reinforcement Type Titan. This guy can be installed in the world to give your teamies extra stats. His skill is Life’s Blessing. Life Blessing increases ally castle Troop HP by 100% within 6 tile areas.

Meet the Gatekeeper

The Gatekeeper is your Defense Type Titan. This is the guy you are going to use to appoint as a defender for your castle. His skill is Impregnable Defense. Impregnable Defense increases the Titan’s defense by 80% when defending.

The Anatomy of a Titan

When you go to your Titan screen you are going to see a lot of different features. This section is going to cover what each of those sections is and discuss how they are used. We will cover more of these aspects more in-depth later, however, for now, we are going to quickly tell you what each section on this screen is. We will use our Attack Titan Screen as an example.

"Picture of the attack titan"

Starting in the top left you are going to see the type of Titan. There is nothing you can do with this, it only tells you what type of titan it is. Below the type, you are going to see your Appoint tab. This is very similar to appointing your heroes. You will go here to appoint your Titan.

Next on your screen, you are going to see your Titan’s name. If you do not want your Titan to be named Warlord, but would rather he be named Sir Periwinkle, you can change his name here for the mere cost of 100,000 gold.

Next, you are going to see your Titan Level. Here you can add XP. There is a gold cost associated. After that are your stars. The more stars you have the stronger your Titan is. If you select the stars next to the stars you can see your Titan’s current stats and what his stats will be when you upgrade to the next level.

Next, is your Combat Power. This is also going to be similar to what you are used to seeing in your Hero Screen about Combat Power. In the middle of the screen, you can see your Titan’s skill, and directly below that is where you are able to choose which Titan you are viewing.

In the top right of your screen, you are going to see your gold… moving on… In regards to the Titan, the first thing you are going to see is your Titan Traits. This is your skills tree for your Titan.

Below that you are going to see where you are able to equip Moonstones. Moonstones are like Runes for Titans. The wonderful Aly has an article that you can reference to learn more about Moonstones.

Finally, on the bottom right of your screen, you will be able to see your Titan’s Durability. Your Titan will lose durability in battle. However, he can be repaired using resources and speed-ups. The higher the CP of your Titan the more time and resources he will take to repair.

The Cost of Titans

This is what everyone has been waiting for, I know because you all already asked me in Line. There are two costs associated with your Titan. We are going to look at fragments and XP.

Titan Fragments

Titan fragments can be obtained from multiple sources including the War Coin Shop where you can purchase one fragment a day and the Super Pass Shop where you are able to purchase 10 every week. However, the most significant supply of fragments will come from leveling your Citadel to levels 43, 44, and 45.

Each Titan has its own Fragment. So the Fragments you will be able to choose from chests include:

  • Warlord Titan Fragment (Sir Periwinkle, if you do not understand that go back and read the rest of the article, slacker)
  • Savior Titan Fragment
  • Gatekeeper Titan Fragment

Fragment costs per star are as follows:

"Picture of a table listing the fragment costs of titans"

As mentioned before if you click the star next to the stars you can see your current level and the next level. This is also where you are going to go to hit that upgrade button.

"Picture of upgrading a titan"

Titan XP

Titan XP is currently only able to be obtained through purchasing with gold. As you level up your Titan you are only able to level as far as your stars. For example, if you have a one-star Titan you can only level him to 10, a two-star titan can only go to level 20.

Therefore, we have a BIG CAUTION here, do not overbuy XP. It is costly when it comes to gold and if you reach your current max level then the XP does not carry over. This means you are spending way more gold than you need to.

XP costs for your Titan are as follows:

Titan Traits

The final component of your Titans that we are going to discuss today is your Traits. Your Titan Traits are very similar to Lord Skills. You are going to have two trait trees. The first tree is your Titan tree.

This tree has stats that strengthen the Titan itself.

"Picture of the first tree that strengthens your titan (called the titan tree)"

The next tree is your troop tree. This tree is going to strengthen your troops when you deploy your titan. Important note!!! Upon Deployment is different in the world of Titans than it is in the world of Dragons. Upon Deployment counts towards reinforcing, attacking, and appointed Titans.

Do Not Worry

We have not forgotten Battle or Research or the Forgotten Temple (even though it would be funny if we forgot the forgotten temple). We plan to have another article on those aspects soon!
