Here, Monsters of all kinds, as well as Chaotic and Defiled Strongholds will be covered. Be sure to be prepared in the battle against Infidus!

Iron Throne 6.0 Update and Monsters

The 6.0 update brought many exciting updates to the game. Some of these updates had to do specifically with our monsters.

One that I am particularly excited about is that we will now be able to auto hunt event monsters. This update will not apply to Kingdom Event Monsters (Imps); however, next time you see a cake or bear popping out of a gift box, you should be able to set up to auto hunt it.

Changes to Rewards

The next change with monsters is the rewards they drop. First Kill rewards have been updated to include more prizes. The good news is that IT did not forget all of us who have already gotten our first kill rewards.

We were able to go back and get all the first kill rewards again after the update. The increases to first kill rewards included the following:

The final update to rewards included the drop rates. The following changes happened:

  • 25% March Speed Ups and Hero XP are now fixed rewards for killing a monster
  • Drop rates for resources on monster levels 1-45 were increased
  • Drop rates on equipment material chests for monster levels 46-47 were increased
  • Equipment material chests for monsters from level 21-45 are now fixed rewards
  • 1 hour Alliance speeds are now fixed rewards for monsters level 1-47

5. 4 Update

With the March 5.4 Update, new Monsters have arrived in Iron Throne. Monsters now go to level 47. With this change, we are also seeing new Elite Monsters. In the table below you can see the names of the new monsters and whether they are common or Elite and the level

Name Level Grade
Cockatrice 46 Common
Living Armor 46, 47 Elite
Satyr 46, 47 Elite
Lava Turtle 47 Common

New Monster Rewards

With new Monster Levels, we also have new Rewards. Level 46 and 47 Monsters have a chance of dropping Speeds, pet summoning scrolls, march speeds, level 60 grade 1 to 3 chests, and RSS. In addition, they have the chance of spawning a Living Armor or Satyr Elite. These Elites drop chests with a mix of different level 60 gear in them.

So get your hunt on and start grinding for those new level 60 gears!! Some tips and tricks if you are struggling to hit new monsters, many players have had a lot of luck hitting them with +5 Rad however, not every player has +5 Rad just sitting around.

You should also keep an eye out for Hero Stats especially Hero Attack Stats. Check your Lord Skills, your Pets (I like using the Mandragora), Check your boosts and do not forget you can buy them in the VIP shop, remember town mode boosts, and keep grinding away to get your gear and stats to the levels needed to hit these Monsters.

PVE Today

Since this guide has been written we have seen a lot of changes to PVE. While much of the information below is true, there has also been some changes that we want to be sure to touch on.

  1. Monsters now go to Level 47- These monsters drop various items including Majestic, Slaughter, Agility, Outcry, and their Crimson Counterparts and Level 60 Gear.
  2. Chaotic Strongholds now go to levels 40 and drop an increased amount of RSS.
  3. Defiled now include Ancient Defiled Strongholds which go to level 40 and drop both an increased amount of RSS and Alliance Research Medals- Be sure to scout these guys before setting your rally!
  4. Auto Hunt for Monsters is now available by Monster Type! This means if you want a ton of Majestic Mats you can set your Heroes to only hit Majestic Monsters.
  5. Imps have arrived! These monsters have their own time and special rewards. For more information about the Imps check out a video from our favorite Princess Kat, here.

Using your AP Wisely

With all these options for PVE and Rewards, where is it wisest to spend your AP? We have a few tips to help you decide.

  1. Always compare the highest Chaotic Stronghold or Defiled you can kill with one hit to what you need more than one hit to kill. Typically it is more beneficial to only hit what you can kill in one hit.
  2. Watch for when event monsters are coming and make sure you have AP! While you cannot use Auto Hunt with Event Monsters these guys have some great drops you do not want to miss out on. You can prepare by checking the monthly calendar.
  3. Kill Monsters and Strongholds in Blood Moon for increased rewards.
  4. Watch for events and kill during events to receive event rewards as well.
  5. To be sure you are able to kill the highest level Monsters make sure you are optimizing your Hero Stats!

Monsters

Monsters appear from level 1 to 30. Each level drops a variety of Speed Up items and crafting materials. In order to hunt monsters, you must send out your hero, and it does cost AP. For normal monsters, the cost is 10 AP; for Chaotic Wights, the cost is 20 AP.

Get AP Potions as rewards for VIP Daily Quests and Daily quests in Town Mode. Or buy them for gold in VIP store.

Killing the Monster

Every Monster has its own Combat Power, or CP. Your Hero also has their own Combat Power. In order to kill a Monster, your Hero’s CP must be over or at least close to the CP of the Monster. Therefore, focusing on the CP of your Hero for Monster Hunting is very important. There are multiple things you can do to increase the CP of your Hero.

Tips to Increasing your Hero’s Combat Power:

  • Use Gear and Runes with Hero Attack, Defense, and HP.
  • Level up your Hero.
  • Skill your Lord with a focus on Hero Statistics and Monster Hunting Statistics.
  • Use Monster Hunting Attack Increase Items.
  • Use Buffs from Town Mode.

Pro tip: You might still be able to kill a Monster even if your Hero’s Combat Power is a little lacking. Don’t give up!

Finding Monsters and Chaotics

In order to find Monsters and Chaotic Strongholds, use the Search Function to the bottom right of your Screen while on the World Map.

Finding monsters.jpg

Note that Monsters and Strongholds will be easier to find when you are looking for a specific level, because they are distributed on the map based on their level.

Rewards

Every Monster drops a variety of Rewards when you kill it. You can check the rewards in your mail in reports. As the level of the monsters you kill increases, so does the quality of what is being dropped. Don’t forget; there are also First Kill Rewards! When you kill a monster for the first time, you receive more rewards. The First Kill Rewards are based on the monster’s level. You can see what they will be by looking at the information that is pulled up when clicking on the Monster, as seen in the image below.

Chaotic Wights

While the Monsters were sent by Infidus to take over the world, it is believed that there is another Monster controlling their actions, the Chaotic Wight. Occasionally after killing a regular Monster, a Chaotic Wight will appear. This Monster is stronger then its regular counterpart. Chaotic Wights drop possible Rewards of Speed Ups, Upgrade Hammers, and Chaotic Wight Gear. For more information about this gear, set be sure to check out The Forge.

Monster Cerberus

Cerberus is another Elite Monster like the Chaotic Wight. It appears after killing normal Level 30 Monsters and has an Enemy Hero Defense Debuff of -10%. This Monster is very important, as it drops the new gear set, Dark Lord. This Gear set has great all-around stats that will appeal to many players.

Cerberus Possible Drops:

  • 30 day Speed Ups
  • Radiant Material Chests
  • Upgrade Hammers
  • Lvl 40-60 Gears

Raid Boss Event

The Raid Boss is a different type of Monster. The Death Knight is said to be the embodiment of fear itself. In order to conquer this Monster, everyone in the World must rise up against it together. Relic Equipment, which is very powerful, is given as a reward to the Lords who show the most bravery and power among those who battle the Raid Monster.

Facts about the Raid Boss Event:

  • You can stay shielded during the event, so your castle is safe.
  • Each attack uses AP, and you will need a lot of it to keep hitting the Death Knight for 30 minutes.
  • Prepare your buffs in advance: Hero Attack / Defense / HP and Monster Hunt Speed +200%.
  • Travelling faster is crucial to ranking high in Raid Boss event.
  • Purchase Raid Gear to maximize your Hero’s Combat Power in Raid Boss events.

Pro tip: quality over quantity – attack with your strongest hero rather than with all your heroes. Attacking with all will only drain AP, but won’t score as many points.

Chaotic and Defiled Strongholds

Chaotic and Defiled Strongholds were also sent by Infidus to take over the world. Chaotic Strongholds, like Monsters, go from Level 1 to 30. Defiled Strongholds go from Level 21 to 30. These Strongholds give great Slay Rewards and First Kill Rewards. In order to defeat a Chaotic or Defiled Stronghold you must attack it with your Troops and Hero. Here is the good news, any troops that are killed in this battle are magically revived.

Chaotic Stronghold Facts

  • Unlike Monsters, Chaotic Strongholds do not need to be killed in one hit; you can hit them multiple times to weaken them.
  • Every level of Chaotic Stronghold contains different Troops and has a different Power.
  • When completely defeating Chaotic Strongholds or Defiled Strongholds, you get Final Kill Rewards
  • Chaotic Strongholds can only be soloed.
  • Defiled Strongholds can only be rallied.
  • Chaotic Strongholds give Ancient Coins upon defeat, which can be used in your Inn.
  • Chaotic and Defiled Strongholds give great resources as Slay Rewards.
  • First Kill for a Chaotic Stronghold is obtained just by winning the Battle, you do not have to completely defeat it.
  • First Kill Rewards include Resources, Troops, and other items.
  • Chaotic and Defiled Strongholds also require AP to attack.

When Chaotic Strongholds Attack

If you are unshielded, Chaotic Strongholds can hit you and attack you! Remember this when your screen turns red, because it may be a Chaotic Stronghold! However: just like when you attack the Chaotic Stronghold, any Troops that are killed in the process are revived by ancient magic.

Rewards

As with Monsters, the higher the level of the Chaotic Stronghold, the more rewards you get. Chaotic and Defiled Strongholds give great rewards that help you continue to grow and build. Below you can see an example of First Kill and Slay Rewards.

New Chaotic Stronghold Levels

With T7 being released we also have new Chaotic Stronghold levels! These Chaotic Strongholds for First Kill Rewards are great because they give T7 which gives you the opportunity to test these troops out and see what they can do for you. However, also with the Higher level Chaotic Strongholds we are seeing increased payouts of items received upon defeating them. Be wary, however, if these levels take multiple hits to defeat you may not be using your AP as efficiently as if you were hitting lower level and killing them with one blow.

Defiled Strongholds

Defiled Strongholds also give two types of Rewards. They give damage rewards, rewards that you earn just for doing damage to the Stronghold, and Slay Rewards. Slay Reward amounts increase with the level of the Defiled Stronghold, but are otherwise the same.

Slay Rewards

  • Alliance Gift
  • Upgrade Hammers
  • Resources of all types
